The morning after

Well, it is over.  I have been decompressing, eating mainly free and busy as all heck since the month ended last week.  I noticed that things I have begun to spend money on are greens, such as kale, and oranges.  I notice that onions are a staple of most cooked dishes I like to make, soup especially, and are not a common thing to find in dumpsters, so I’ve been buying onions too.

I got a gift of a pound of coffee as I ended the month (thanks mom!) or else I would have spent money on that as well.  I can’t really justify the spending of money on food though, not after realizing how much goes to waste.  This project has led me to become very involved in Food Not Bombs, a group who is currently supplying food to Occupy Vancouver through the days and nights.  All the food eaten has either been donated or acquired by FNB from local bakeries and produce places.

Thanks for sticking it out!  More to come.  Be well, and eat free.  xo
